Unity Calling

Do They Know?

It seems kind of odd that since I stopped regularly using Unity about three months ago, I have been getting a lot of emails from them.

More specifically, I have been getting a lot of emails asking if I need any questions answered about Unity. Letting me know that there are all kinds of Tutorials and Asset packages at my disposal.

Now, of course I have no way to prove anything. But I suspect that Unity itself has some kind of tracking information that it sends back to the mother ship. If they are using the information wisely, and I suspect they are. They could easily see a pattern for me having used the tool daily for the last four years, only to see it drop to almost zero in the last three months.

Using that information, they could have created a personal campaign for me, trying to get me back with Tutorials and other information to remind me about my old friend Unity. Sneaky.

I have nothing against Unity, and one day I will probably get into the “why” I stopped using it. But for now, it is easier for me to just tell you that Godot, is the better engine for me.

What about you? Have you noticed a pattern of emails from Unity? Does it seem like you are getting more or less these days?
