Oh yeah, another blog!
Yes that’s right, I think this is probably my 20th or so attempt at starting a blog site.
But this time, this time it is going to be different.
In my previous attempts at this, I was trying to have a more technical blog,relating to Unity (the game development tool), and maybe a few things about making games. But I have recently switched over to using Godot the Free Open Source game development tool. So I will probably write about that. I also want to write some Tutorials to show other people things I have learned.
As the website name (gamedevdad) suggests, I want this site to be about me being a game developer, and also being a dad, and everything that comes in betwee. And belive me, there is a LOT in between. I have a passion for making (and playing) games, and I love the development process.
I don’t think I want to talk about politics, although it does interest me. I think everyone I know and care about knows where I stand on things.
I also can’t really talk about my job too much either, as the group and projects I am working on are not something I can talk about. However, I can discuss some of the things I do at work related to tools and methodologies we follow.
So that just leaves all the fun things I do. Like Game Development, Scouting, Hiking, Eating, Barbecueing, Bike Riding, Retro Computer-ing and Eating. Wait — I wrote Eating twice.
Whatever it is, the focus will be on the things that interest me. How I manage my time to do those things, and how I keep (in)sane.
I am not going to write everyday. That is just crazy and I would never be able to keep that pace. But once a week will probably work. Maybe with a tutorial or two mixed in here and there.
So, I don’t know if I really have a story to tell, or if anyone is interested, but we will see.
If anything my kids can look back and read this when I am gone and maybe have a laugh or two.
