I Adore My 64!

Yes, I Am Getting Old

I really do Adore my 64.

I have to admit that I am getting up there in age, but I still enjoy playing some of those old classics on the Commodore 64. Like Pool Of Radiance, Defender of the Crown, Bruce Lee, Giana Sisters, MULE, Paradroid, it really is an extensive list.

I have a nice collection of Commodore 64’s (8) and 128’s (4), but I don’t use them that often. I probably should, but it seems like a bother to just turn them on sometimes, and I am always afraid that something will fry when I do. Anyway, I love using the Vice Emulator, and I have a VERY LARGE collection of Disk Images that I have collected on the Internet so I can play just about anything I want.

I will write a few Tutorials about how to get started using the Commodore Emulator Vice. For the most part it is pretty easy, but there are some things that can make your life easier. Some of those older games are quite fun. The other amazing thing is that there is an entire community out there that still uses their Commodores. It’s really awesome.

I also like to do some coding on the old machine too, in assembly language no less. I am working on a C64 version of an old Apple game called Microwave. It was one of my favorite games from when I was a kid, and it was never made for the C64. I intend to change that. But I will save that story for another day.

Let me know if you are a Retro gamer. I would love to hear about some of your favorite games, and what systems you played them on.
